It’s Complicated

Friends Research Institute will work with PreventEd to evaluate It’s Complicated, a peer-taught cannabis education curriculum for high school students that was developed by PreventEd. It’s Complicated is delivered over three class sessions as part of standard health class. This project builds on a prior collaboration between FRI and PreventEd to evaluate the initial implementation of It’s Complicated. Like the original evaluation, the current project will examine the impact of It’s Complicated in one or more schools using brief longitudinal student surveys within the context of a cluster-randomized variable-timing implementation design (or other scientifically sound design, if indicated). The FRI evaluation team will work with PreventEd and participating school sites to plan implementation logistics and make any needed adaptations to the evaluation methods. Any revisions to evaluation methods will prioritize strengthening causal inferences, while also considering logistical feasibility.
