Institutional Environment
Throughout its existence, FRI has been committed to both research and clinical research training. FRI promotes pre-and post-doctoral training experiences designed to facilitate careers in behavioral, public health, and public policy research. Significant research experience is gained by junior research scientists and research assistants through participation in research studies conducted by FRI senior research scientists. These senior scientists are available for intellectual interactions, consultation, guidance, and assistance during the course of the research undertaking. Typical interactions may involve discussions and collaborations related to study implementation, statistical analysis, manuscript preparation and publication, conference and poster presentations, participation in classroom lectures and/or seminars, and grant application submission support. The senior research scientists have university affiliations and appointments at various public and private educational institutions, such as Johns Hopkins University, Stevenson University, the University of Maryland, the University of Maryland School of Medicine, and the University of California, Los Angeles.
