Ms. Smith attended Georgia Southwestern State University, where she received a B.A. in Sociology. She served as an AmeriCorps VISTA at Tucson Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. During this time, she collaborated between Tucson Medical Center and the Medication Assisted Treatment programs in the community and developed a curriculum for Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome families in the NICU and TMC staff.
At FRI, Ms. Smith is working with Dr. Shannon Gwin Mitchell on a pilot study to modify the Ending Self Stigma intervention for justice-involved populations with opioid use disorder, as well as assisting with coordination on the HEAL JCOIN Learning Collaborative for Drs. Gordon and Mitchell.
