Callan O’Sullivan

Callan received their undergraduate degree from the University of St Andrews in Psychology and Philosophy. Throughout their degree program, Callan was involved in psychology research relating to child development, specifically theory of mind. Their final year thesis investigated the influence of self-identification with social categories (e.g., gender, age, etc.) on children’s ability to understand false beliefs. In addition to research, Callan has also worked with Children’s Crisis Treatment Center’s (CCTC) summer camp, which provides children an environment to learn emotion regulation strategies. The experience influenced Callan’s interest in researching interventions that can best safeguard vulnerable populations.

In the future, Callan plans to pursue a PsyD in the greater Philadelphia area.

At FRI, Callan is working on a study under Dr. Karen Alexander and Dr. Courtney Nordeck, investigating the influence of a patient navigation system on the housing stability/health outcomes of women that survived violence.
