Alex Basilavecchio, M.S.

Alex earned both a graduate and undergraduate degree at Capella University. Her M.S. is in Clinical Psychology, with a specialization in Applied Research. She has 4+ years in direct client care work, including volunteering at a nonprofit to provide recovery coaching to women in an underserved area of Pennsylvania. During her education, Alex developed a passion for research that has led her to FRI.

Alex joined FRI as a Research Assistant and is currently a Research Coordinator working with Drs. Gryczynski, Monico, and Terplan on a NIDA sponsored study through the Justice Community Opioid Innovation Network (JCOIN), a research program supported by the NIH HEAL Initiative. This multi-site, randomized trial compares the effectiveness of two FDA-approved medications used to treat opioid use disorder among adults with criminal justice system involvement.
