Research Interests

Alex earned a graduate degree at Capella University in Clinical Psychology, with a specialization in Applied Research. She worked for multiple years in direct client care work, including volunteering at a nonprofit to provide recovery coaching to women in an underserved area of Pennsylvania.

Alex joined FRI as a Research Assistant and is currently a Research Coordinator working with Drs. Gryczynski, Monico, and Terplan on a NIDA sponsored study through the Justice Community Opioid Innovation Network (JCOIN), a research program supported by the NIH HEAL Initiative. This multi-site, randomized trial compares the effectiveness of two FDA-approved medications used to treat opioid use disorder among adults with criminal justice system involvement. Alex is also currently a Project Manager working with Drs. Gryczynski and Alexander on a pilot study aiming to help connect individuals leaving hospitalization to additional treatment and resources.
