Ms. Ibrahim attended the University of Medical Sciences and Technology in Khartoum, Sudan where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy. While she lived in Sudan she worked with several non-profit organizations that provided healthcare to marginalized and displaced populations, with a focus on women and children in Darfur. In 2019, she earned her Master’s degree in Addiction Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University where she discovered a passion for studying evidence-based treatments and harm-reduction strategies for substance use and obstacles to their implementation.
At FRI, Ms. Ibrahim is currently working as a Research Associate with Drs. Robert Schwartz and Frank Vocci on a study to develop an Addiction Medicine Practice Based Research Network (AMNet). This study aims to create an opioid treatment research platform to gain insight into the patients, treatments delivered, and outcomes in office-based practices providing treatment for opioid use disorder.
