Rachel received her Bachelor of Science in Sociology and a certificate in criminology at Northern Illinois University. Her main research interests include strategies to increase access to effective treatments and healthcare for incarcerated individuals and the continuity of care throughout their reentry process. She is passionate about reducing the risk factors that justice-involved individuals face as they return to their communities so they can enjoy a higher quality of life and reduce their chances of recidivism.
At FRI, Rachel is currently working as a Research Assistant with Drs. Gordon, Mitchell, Blue, and Vocci on a NIDA-funded study comparing the effectiveness of extended-release naltrexone and extended-release buprenorphine as treatment for opioid use disorder in adults leaving jails.
