Ms. Lewis, a Baltimore native (and Ravens & Orioles fanatic), completed her first Master of Science degree at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, with a major in Forensic Science and Law. After graduating, she worked in Corrections as a Correctional Case Manager and Transitional Coordinator, and even became a Certified Wedding and Event Planner. Upon realizing the importance of her own health and the health of loved ones, she began pursuing a degree in Nutrition and earned a Master of Science in Nutrition and Human Performance, and simultaneously, a certificate as a Culinary Nutrition Expert. She loves cooking and trying to help people live their best and healthiest lives.
At FRI, Ms. Lewis has worked on “A Randomized Trial of Interim Methadone and Patient Navigation Initiated in Jail” study and is currently a Research Assistant on the NIDA-funded project “Navigation Services to Avoid Rehospitalization,” or NavSTAR, conducted at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. She is often in the community and enjoys interacting with those in the study, seeing their successes and listening to their stories.
