Research Interests

Jayne was born and raised in Connecticut and moved to upstate New York to start her academic journey. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Ithaca College in May of 2023 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Experimental Psychology at Towson University.  Jayne has experience assisting and conducting her own research within the field of social psychology, on ostracism and its impact on emotions and need satisfaction. Jayne’s research explores how emotions such as anger, sadness, and anxiety, as well as social needs such as belongingness and self-esteem are impacted when ostracism is used to improve a group’s chance at goal attainment and resource consolidation.

At Friends Research Institute Jayne works as a Research Assistant with Drs. Gordon, Carswell, and Sawyer-Morris on a NIDA funded study “Continuing Care App for justice involved individuals with substance use disorders.”
