Research Interests

Ella grew up in New York before moving to Maryland to pursue her undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland. Since graduating in May, she has relocated to Baltimore to conduct research at Friends Research Institute and advance her academic and professional goals.

At the University of Maryland, Ella studied Psychology and Neuroscience, developing an interest in the neurological underpinnings of human behavior. Her academic journey included working in a lab focused on studying parent-child dyads with ADHD and evaluating the efficacy of pharmacological and behavioral treatments. This experience sparked an interest in psychopharmacology and familial dynamics.

In addition to her work with ADHD research, Ella has gained valuable experience working with individuals with psychotic disorders, contributing to her interest in a clinical environment. Her primary research interests now center on addiction in vulnerable populations and social determinants of health.

Ella is enthusiastic about continuing her academic career and aspires to pursue a Ph.D. in Psychology or Neuroscience. She aims to conduct impactful research while also contributing to clinical practice.

At FRI, Ella works as a Research Assistant on the NIDA-funded study comparing the effectiveness of extended-release naltrexone and extended-release buprenorphine as a treatment for opioid use disorder in individuals leaving jail.
