Dennis Rünger received a doctorate summa cum laude in psychology from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Germany, for his experimental research on the generation of conscious awareness in incidental learning situations. He then carried out postdoctoral research on the neurocognitive mechanisms of sequence learning at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and on habit learning and performance at the University of Southern California. Before he joined Friends Research Institute, Dennis explored the use of social networking technologies as a tool for HIV prevention at the University of California, Los Angeles.
