Research Interests

Alicia received her Bachelors of Art degree from Sojourner-Douglass College, majoring in Social Work.

Ms. Aydlett has extensive experience working with community-based populations to improve health outcomes. Previously, she worked on a statewide initiative, titled Improving Access to Care: Using Community Health Workers to Improve Linkage and Retention in HIV Care, which was based out of Boston University in the School of Social Work and Health. Afterwards, she received her Community Health Workers Certification in the state of Maryland and has worked to improve care engagement among individuals living with HIV at the Baltimore City Health Department and the Jacques Initiative at University of Maryland.

At FRI, Ms. Aydlett is working as a Patient Navigator for Dr. Gryczynski’s NIDA-funded OUTLAST-B study, which will examine the effectiveness of opioid use disorder treatment linkage at STI clinics using buprenorphine. Specifically, Ms. Aydlett will work to assist patients in overcoming barriers to entry and engagement in substance use treatment and other care services.
