Ainsley received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Leadership and Social Change as well as her Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Criminology with a minor in Peace Studies and Violence Prevention from Virginia Tech. Her research interests bridge clinical psychology and stigma associated with mental health treatment.

At FRI, Ainsley is working as a Research Assistant for Dr. Michael Gordon on the study entitled “A comparative effectiveness trial of extended-release naltrexone versus extended-release buprenorphine with individuals leaving jail.” The aim of the study is to understand the effectiveness of extended-release naltrexone and extended-release buprenorphine while also determining the costs of implementation in jail settings.
