Research Interests

Adonis was born and raised in New York City and obtained his undergraduate degree in psychology with a minor in biology from Lehman College in 2022. He then worked as a Research Assistant for the Research Foundation of CUNY conducting qualitative and quantitative research on the self-efficacy and challenges faced by New York City’s homeless youth population. This experience kindled his passion for disparities-focused research and implementing novel approaches to enhancing health equity.

Adonis now works as a Research Assistant with Dr. Babak Tofighi on an AHRQ-sponsored R18 trial in collaboration with Weill Cornell, Nathan Kline Institute, and NYU School of Medicine evaluating the efficacy of peer recovery coach support combined with mobile health to reduce racial disparities in treatment access among Black and Latino/a people living with illicit opioid use.
